Microsoft to Drop Internet Explorer on Windows 10

Interesting...

The next version of Microsoft's browser software will be given a brand new name, with the company confirming it's dropping the Internet Explorer branding and will transition to something new.

"We're now researching what the new brand, or the new name, for our browser should be in Windows 10," Microsoft's head of marketing Chris Capossela said at an event on Monday, according to The Verge. Some initial versions of Windows 10 will still include the familiar old browser for compatibility purposes, but "we'll also have a new browser ... which is codenamed Project Spartan. We have to name the thing," Capossela said.

He confirmed the new browser will be the default portal to the internet for Windows 10 devices.

A version of Project Spartan was shown off at the Windows 10 event in January, and again at Mobile World Congress this month. At MWC Microsoft showed off the ability to mark articles on, for instance, a PC device and then pick them back up on on mobile, where they are displayed in a clean but customisable format for optimised reading.
