Microsoft Nigeria Extends 9jApps Contest for Developers New deadline July 19th 2013
Microsoft Nigeria has formally announced the extension of its 9jApps
contest. The challenge which was launched on March 28, 2013 and
originally meant to end on June 14, 2013 has now been extended to July
19, 2013.
9jApps is designed to empower local developers to take advantage of Microsoft’s new
tools and resources to develop locally appealing and locally-relevant
apps for the Windows platform, utilizing Visual Studio 2012 and the
Windows Phone SDK, in addition to the Windows Azure SDK.
In a
statement released by Microsoft Nigeria, Shina Oyetosho, Developer and
Platform Evangelism Lead said “We are highly impressed with the quality
and turnout of apps submitted, both in the Windows 8 and Windows phone
category to the app store.
However, we have received
overwhelming request from the developer community for more time so that
they can be part of the contest, hence the extension”.
The
9jApps contest a Microsoft, Nigeria initiative partnering with Nokia,
DELL and the Co-creation Hub (CCHub, Nigeria) is committed to working
with students, entrepreneurs, and independent developers to help them
create the next generation of world-class apps on the Windows Platform,
to bring relevant content and new business opportunities to people
across Nigeria.
