Linda Ikeji's Error Sparks #Lindalies Trend on Twitter

The thing about media and nowadays social media is that you want to break the news first and ensure that your followers in whatever form they come, rely on and trust the information you present to them.

Top Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji is embroiled in controversy today as one of her stories on her blog has turned out to be unreliable.

She initially posted that a student of Covenant University, Ndubuisi Brown committed suicide but has now edited the story to this.

However, Nigerians have taken to Twitter under the hash tag #Lindalies to lampoon the blogger. She seems to be taking it well though. In one of her tweets on twitter, she asks students of Covenant University, why they don't mention her name in full in their hash tag: "But CU students, why #Lindalies? why not use my full name #Lindaikejilies so pple know y'all are talking abt me? Once again, I apologize :-)" .

Well, Linda, I hope you have learnt your lesson, it is sad though because a young man's reputation might have been tarnished inadvertently by you in death. My condolences to his family and friends.
