The Super Eagles of Nigeria have defeated the Elephants of
Ivory Coast 2-1 in the third quarterfinal of the African Cup of Nations. A
splendid strike in the first half by Emmanuel Emenike put the Super Eagles in
the lead, this was cancelled by a header from Tiote for Ivory Coast early in
the second half but a great run and deflected shot from Sunday Mba proved
decisive as the tournament favourites, Ivory Coast with stars like Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure
could not respond with an equalizer.
Nigeria will play Mali in the semifinals.
