The 2nd selection draw of The Amateur Photographer Competition was held yesterday, March 1, 2012 by Replica Digital Photo Centre at The Hardley Apartments, Victoria Island, Lagos. 10 entries that had been selected by the competition's panel of judges headed by ace veteran photographer, Don Barber had selected the best 10 entries received after the first draw of the competition that held on December 7, 2011.
The contestants were presented with their prizes after they exhibited their work to dignitaries present, led by representative of Lagos State, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola at the event Mr. Gbolahan Oseni.
Olawale Bright emerged the winner of the 1st prize of a 32 Inch LCD Television with the other 9 finalists winning other prizes like Blackberries and Cameras. Olawale was very delighted with his prize and told me that he plans to add more entries before the competition closes.
He obviously has his eyes on the big prize, a 2012 KIA Picanto at the grand finale which the organizers say will now hold in April 2012 after the fuel subsidy protests and strike occasioned a change in the competition's calendar.
If you would like to enter the competition, Go to any of the partner banks' branches nationwide namely: Zenith, Keystone (formerly BankPHB), or UBA with N2,000 registration fee. Ask to pay for The Amateur Photographer Competition. There are also online payment options on the website.
Once payment has been made, you will be issued with a serial number and PIN that you will use to login on to the website to upload 2 photographs that are original and yours. Once this is done, you are already in the competition. Should you want to upload even more photos, you have to repeat the process.
